Following A Call

Argyll Hotel, Isle of Iona, 2016. Rosie and Lorna discuss what it is to follow a call, and what it is to follow someone else’s call.

Shuna, Isle of Iona, 2017. Rosie and Lorna reminisce about previous discussions and discuss what it is to follow a call, and what it is to follow someone else’s call.

2016 to 2017. A whole year of processing, of traveling, of adventuring, of visa paperwork, of packing…

Iona Abbey, Isle of Iona, 2017. Two weeks and a day left until the big day; the move day. A few more days here on the island, continuing what feels like a life long (on and off!) call to this place. A few more days then follow, back in Edinburgh, tying up some loose ends, saying goodbye for now to Augustine United Church where I’ve been fortunate enough to be called to for these past few years, and having many ‘see you later’ moments. And then it happens; the move. And then it happens; following the call. The call of one, and then one follows? The call of two? The call of one, and through marriage, the call of two?

It doesn’t really matter which way it’s phrased, it is still a call, and one to be followed.

And without beautiful souls of friends in my life, this call would be harder. Thank you for supporting this; my life.
