Time flies

Wowzers, it has been over 7 weeks since I last posted. Bad, bad me. Sorry, all! I guess that just proves how busy life has been. “Busy with what?” I hear you ask. Well, I’ll try to give a quick rundown, and see how I get on…

Since my last post about my real estate license training, I now officially have my real estate license and am working with Long & Foster based in Eldersburg. Go follow me on facebook before you continue reading! It wasn’t an easy journey getting the license but I’m glad I did it, and I’m glad it’s over! As most of you will know, studying is not my thing. An intensive two weeks and I was totally worn out, but so relieved to have it completed and even more relieved that I passed the State and National exams the first time round.  I am sure more about work will follow in blogs once I have 1) a bit more time and 2) a bit more of an idea of how it will all unfold as I gain clients!

Also in the past 7 weeks, I have been back to the UK. In many ways it felt a little too soon to go back, and in many ways it was the best thing to do. I was SO very excited to be able to attend N & C’s wedding (the whole purpose of the trip!) in the beautiful sunshine surrounded by beautiful souls. It was an amazing day, and I have never seen such a diverse group of people have such FUN and laughter at a ceilidh before — it summed up so much about who they are as individuals and as a couple.  I also have never cried quite so easily at a wedding before! I won’t go in to the ins and outs of it, but knowing how high the emotions were running and the brides eyes unable to hold in the tears anymore, the empathy ran high and tears flowed freely. So much love in one room for two special people, and even more so with loved ones unable to be there but their presence so strongly part of the day.

Surrounding the wedding adventures, I was able to travel around and see lots of awesome people and places. With time in London, Essex, York and Edinburgh, I was fully booked and loved every moment of it. It was busy and I should have taken time for more sleep — but I wouldn’t have changed any of it because I was able to see so many of my amazing friends and family. Breakfast by the water, lunch getting sunburnt, dinner at the usual haunts, drinks at the bars… Underground to gigs, walks by the river, drives over the Forth Road Bridge, buses to town… Chats a plenty and hugs a many… It was two weeks of fabulousness! Thank you to all of you who made time to hang out,  and I look forward to seeing you all again soon — here or there!

And talking of seeing people here… Alan arrived! Two days after I landed back, I was back at the airport collecting Alan off his flight and surprising Becca with his arrival! All of the secrets were worth it to see her reaction, and to have two weeks together here. It was so good to have him here, show him around, tour a bit, and generally just hang. From dinner at Becks, to running the D.C. Pride 5km in the crazy heat, to wandering the streets of Frederick, to going to church, to hanging out at the house and putting the world to rights, to everyone meeting him and loving him, to shopping in Baltimore, to eating ice-cream and Rita’s, to our visit to Trumptons house, to meeting the local goats, to driving to Dulles in the craziest storm rain I’ve seen… It was awesome to have him here and I hope he comes back soon! Oh, and YOU too — you should come and visit and do some of these fun things with us too, and more!

I was going to write some more, because there is plenty to say, but that is a vague enough run through of life since my last post — and now I am hungry. So, for now, food calls, and I will try to keep it less than 7 weeks till the next time…
